Tulips

I do so love tulips and this week they are looking their best.  There are reds and yellows,

 top L - unknown double, top R Golden Artist, bottom L - Bright Parrot, bottom R - unknown/forgotten

and pinks and whites
All unknown except bottom right - Huis Ten Bocsh

Doll's Minuet

Unknown

Also flowering today is this pasque flower, I love the hairiness of it,

and this delightful little plant, which I think is a wood anemone, but I have no recollection of planting it, although I must have done.

It's very pretty!

Fabulous tulips! You always have such beautiful flowers in your garden. I was just outside taking some photos of my early tulips just before they are completely gone.

They are so beautiful. I can't seem to grow them here, too many slugs and snails.

The Wood Anemone could have been brought by the wind or the birds, it is pretty too; I think another name for is is Wind Flower as they look so nice swaying in a breeze.

Such a beautiful collection of tulips, the colours are a delight, love the Huis Ten Bosch.
I have grown wood anemone but masque flower would be too hot and humid in Auckland.

Su, all of these flowers are so beautiful...is there no end to the variety of tulips? I think the answer is no.

Finally, after a very long wait, we are beginning to see some lovely spring flowers over in Central Park. I had a fine time on a long walk home from the upper east side of NYC this week and saw so many beautiful sights, I just had to post a blog about it. Although I am not the gardener, I am a grateful appreciator.

You have such a great variety of colours and shapes. I'm new to loving tulips, but have discovered how wonderful they look in pots and it means the hens don't trample them.

The Wood Anemone may be a seed brought in on your shoes after a local walk as there are lots in the woods and on the verges of Suffolk.

Beautiful tulips, and such a wide variety of shapes and colours. I've grown a mixed collection this year but none of the darker colours shown on the packaging turned up, just the usual reds and yellows. I half guessed that would be the case.

I have a love/hate relationship with tulips Su - love the flowers but can't stand many of the leaves. You have a fine collection of them. That Pasque flower looks do delightfully fuzzy and oh what a great colour!

I love tulips myself - but have one or two disappointments this year - where they have not lived up to the picture on the packet. You have a lovely selection. And as for the Pasque flower - be still my beating heart.
