A Four Year Wait

For the four years since I moved here, I've been wondering what this plant was that I inherited.

It's planted next to my pond, in dry shade, and the leaves have appeared each year.   Every year I've hoped that a flower might appear - and today I spotted one!

It's some kind of arum I'm sure, but beyond that I don't know.  Maybe one of you will know, but even if I never know its exact name I'll still like it!

Also looking stunning today was Clematis Romantika growing through the rose Adelaide d'Orleans.

Let's hope we all get to enjoy some more sunshine this weekend.

Hope you all have good weekends - I'll be back soon to show you what I won in a blog draw a few weeks ago.

  1. Your clematis looks beautiful against the rose. there is a beautiful clematis at my mum's care home and the flowers are like dinner plates! It's amazing how much variety there is in clematis, they are such wonderful plants. I don't know anything about arums but I'm sure you're right.

  2. It's definitely an Arum Lily - how lovely. Clematis are one of my favourite flowers I have them growing through roses as well - love that colour of yours.

  3. Your patience has been rewarded at last, it is a beautiful bloom. The Clematis and Rose are equally beautiful, what lovely shades.

  4. It's an arum lily, though beyond that I don't know anything else, it's not a plant I've grown before. It's been quite a wait for it to flower, but well worth it, stunning.

  5. Yes a Zantedeschia, well it took me so long to learn I haven't got space in my brain for Arum Lilly as well! Just lovely ;)

  6. It all looks very pretty indeed! Our roses are glorious this year but everything else was looking a bit floppy and rain battered - a couple of hours of chopping and tidying has it looking a bit better now but there's still a way to go!
