Sunshine!

Today the sun came out, little white fluffy clouds danced across the blue sky.

In the garden spring is arriving:

crocuses and grape hyacinths have emerged,

hyacinths are in full flower,

there are daffodils of all colours and shapes,

and the chaenomeles is in flower.

The pond is full of frogspawn :-)

And I have a new front door.  Gone is the warped, tired, wooden one that needed the postman to lean against it at times in order for me to open it,

replaced with a smart new black, composite one.  Looks like wood but won't warp and swell and doesn't have gaps for the wind to whistle through.

Hope you're all enjoying some sunshine too.

  1. I love the onset of spring and when the sun shines...
No frog spawn in our pond yet though.

  2. Hasn't it been beautiful... even though I have been away working for most of the weekend I managed a couple of hours in the garden when I came home this afternoon. Blissful!

  3. O my goodness - frogspawn!!! Memories of hunting in the brooks and ponds for this, a long time ago!
Your flower photographs have made me so very happy this morning, you have my favourites in your garden there and I swear I can smell the hyacinth. Crocuses have been a love of mine from childhood - Lancashire - when they form a carpet it's just magic isn't it. Chaenomeles is a shrub which grows easily here in NZ but I don"t have one in our garden here, something I shall definitely remedy come Spring. Better go and see what's happening in my Autumn garden!

  5. Su, I enjoyed seeing your spring sampler, all lit by the helpful sun. Saturday was a fine sunny day here, yesterday warm but overcast...and now that it's Monday, we've got an all day soaker of a rain. I guess it will be good for bringing forth more flowers, and encourage more leaves on branches.

I'm hoping rain will stay away from Thursday's St Patrick's Day Parade!

  6. Fabulous blue skies, spring flowers and sunshine here too Su. Hope that your snazzy looking new door helps to keep you warm and snug when the east wind blows.

  7. Isn't it wonderful to be able to be out in the garden and feel the sun's warmth and see things starting to grow!
Glad you're feeling better and have a smart and functional front door :-)

  8. Lovely images, I adore Spring.

Please tell me where you got your door from, mine is a pain - buckled and peeling - composite sounds what I need.
