My Favourite Combination

I think that this must be my favourite combination in the garden at the moment.

I'm not sure what variety the tulips are, but they look lovely underneath the Exochorda. When I moved here I didn't know what it was as it had been badly pruned and was just a single stem, I'm very glad I left it in though as the white flowers look so beautiful with the tulips.

Maybe tomorrow there'll be a break in the showers so I can sit and have a cup of tea and gaze at them, rather than rushing past in an attempt to not get wet!

I have those purple tulips too, mixed in with a delicate pink/pale green double. Just love them. Picked a gorgeous small posy this morning, of teeny tiny tulips (they are a miniature version of some red ones planted elsewhere in the garden, so how did I end up with these?) plus mini narcissus, muscari, a tiny sprig of Bridal Wreath and white pulmonaria.
Like you, lots of showers.... lovely warm sun in between though.

How pretty. I had never heard of the white flower before.

I agree, the perfect combination. Those tulips are such a wonderful colour. I never got round to planting any in autumn, I must do better this year.

A pleasing colour contrast Su. You must be pleased you let the exochorda stay. Here a violent hailstorm has snapped some of my tulip stalks - only have a few so not best pleased!

A lovely photograph, that's a beautiful combination. I must try and get some tulips planted in my garden for next year!

I'm sure I've had similar to these gorgeous tulips, planted with a delicious orange one (of course ;) but it's too damp here so they're just annuals really - makes it expensive! ;(

I love the sharp colour contrast - they do look good together Su.

No chance of sitting out in your lovely garden yet but I'm convinced we are going to have a good May:D

I love it when a plan comes together. It usually happens by accident in my garden but is welcome nevertheless. Love those dark tulips.
