There are sculptures that are big and in their own space,
some stand by water,
and some float on the water.
What I really loved was the sensitive placing of the sculptures, especially those in the walled gardens where they clearly enhanced their surroundings.
I really loved these fish swimming through the grasses.
Willow angels hang from trees,
metal sycamore wings spin round in the breeze,
and birds rise from swathes of white agapanthus.
These are just some of the photos I took, there are more on my flickr stream.
If you're in the area it's well worth a visit - I shall definitely be going back before the sculptures go at the end of the month, as looking at the catalogue and the website I missed quite a few!

They're all so beautiful! I know someone who loves sculpture parks... an idea for a birthday outing perhaps.
Su, the sculptures seem so well chosen for their particular locations. I am wondering whether the artists had a part in deciding where their creations were to settle, or if the arrangements were designed by curatorial folks.
If I did live close enough, I would definitely be taking my own walk around these gardens. Lovely to have your fine photographs here to show me what you saw.
Many thanks. xo
Stunning sculptures and beautifully placed. My favourite I'd the hare.
Terrific images Su; I had a look at your Flickr page too and really fell in love with the wild boar and piglets, the fish are rather fascinating too.
I love sculptures outdoors, especially when they enhance their space, and their space enhances them. It must take a lot of thought and talent to curate such a display. Enjoyed looking at your house re decorations, etc. I madly painted loads of stuff white a while ago, and it made such a difference! Lightened the house and my mood! X
Oh what fun Su. Their presence will certainly enrich the garden for August visitors. If you had not said I would have thought that those skimming birds were real.
What a wonderful place, will put it on my list of places to go!
